Here are the details from a newsletter I received. No changes have been made. One needs to register to get the link to sign up via email.
The Democracy and Belonging Forum is a new initiative from OBI that brings together civic leaders in Europe and the US who are committed to countering pernicious polarization by bridging across lines of difference while centering the needs and concerns of marginalized groups.
Through in-person and online convenings, original research, story-sharing, funded joint experiments and other activities, we will evolve our understanding of othering, belonging, breaking and bridging as they apply to different regions, and share strategies to counter polarization and democratic erosion. Stay up to date with this emergent work by following our new Instagram and Twitter and signing up for our bi-weekly e-news.
Join us December 1, 2022 (8:00 AM - 9:30 AM PST / 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM ET / 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM CET) for the Democracy & Belonging Forum’s next event in the ongoing series the Edges in the Middle, where V (formerly known as Eve Ensler, award-winning author of The Vagina Monologues) and Global Senior Fellow Bayo Akomolafe will explore 'Congo' - not merely as a country in Central Africa and site of V's "City of Joy", but as a useful metaphor to explore contemporary politics. In a time when things are heating up (quite literally), V and Bayo will examine and discuss trauma, forgiveness, restoration, healing, safety, and a politics that goes beyond.
