Taking Life On One Day At A Time (and Talking to One Person or many One Post at a Time). Lots of Livin' Done and To Be Done Still..

I have summarized some points in my life and learning journey...I have blogged for over five years and have reached 80K. I have spoken to many people over the course of my 55 years, primarily in my school and family circles for the first 14 years through 8th grade, then about the 500 at HVHRS when I was a student council rep (so heard what was going on with the other classes), a choral member and in the play (How to Succeed in Business...) and soccer and track player my first year.

Then I was in New Haven, with 1800 students and again in Fairfield with that number before being involved on the Vassar College campus in the early 1980s, again with about 2K students. I appreciate 'comprehensible sized communities..' and it takes a fair amount of time to learn and build or grow connections. I learned a lot from permculture, mediation and parenting programs as well as faith group and advocacy efforts (plenty connected to divorce, custody, domestic abuse..and Yes, sadly those things all go together even if the parents never lived together or married..that'd be the custody part not the divorce one. )

Each person is on a similar yet very singular set of experiences. How one views their own life and times can vary. It's important to learn to ask questions, pay attention to intuition and dreams, consider the alternatives (such as The Option Dialogue process explores...) What IF someone felt or believed differently than they did (at the time or when reviewing situations and times... what kinds of feelings and experiences may have unfolded or even come around upon review.. We are in times when many conflicts are emerging 'like clockwork.' Do we have strategies to address those in supportive, comprehensible (legal and fair-handed, even respectful) ways?

What are the options...I would caution everyone, myself included, to be careful about posting anything that can be considered antagonizing or threatening..there are laws that allow for anyone to have a 'mental health check' for up to a day (as in 24 hours..or is that longer) if there are indications of upset and imbalance. If that sounds 'un-American' (especially if done against someone's will) just consider that before that, someone would have to clearly indicate they would hurt someone (or themselves) before an intervention could be done.

Sometimes that's just too late and more victims would agree, best not to wait. That said, it's important to learn to process one's thoughts and feelings..and while we are not computers it sometimes can be helpful to know what websites talk about such things...so I cover some of that on my blog too....www.livfully.org Basically just getting online and asking google for some info about figuring out feelings, ways to express anger, hurt, confusion and more would be a good start. If you don't have time to go to counseling or have a few good listening friends, it's worth trying to get some of those resources. In addition, journalling freely any and all ideas, feelings, concerns, stories, experiences (past, present or hoped for in the future or what one fears or sees comin') is all helpful.

Again make sure you are in safe place, with people who will not use what you write against you in some way (and there are many ways that can be done, especially if someone has access to your things and is controlling, intimidating or otherwise prone to harassing you...) Okay so that's some of the basics I wanted to cover..hope everyone is doing simple things to take care of themselves from eating well and getting breaks and good sleep and support on all levels to face the times in which we live..since things are 'heating up' on many levels...
