Lime Rock Park's In the Lime Light with Vintage Cars and More on Labor Day Weekend 2018
I am sneaking this from from their main site to let you in on a great set of events rockin' the Lime Rock CT Race Track area August 31st through Sept 3rd, 2018. But it actually starts in an hour with a cool vintage car parade which I am planning to take some pals too, one only a few years old whose ready to give her honest opinion on such things..and one whose duly impressed to put aside her other interests as a young adult and come see what all the hootin' and cheerin' is about. Other cool teens may grace the area with their BMX bike skills amidst the after party of the car parade which will feature our amazingly endlessly talented Wanda Houston and musicians. More cheers..okay so here are the deets so get up on your feets and meets me there already!
"Now in its 36th year, the Historic Festival at Lime Rock Park has been a time-honored tradition since 1982. Enjoy vintage car racing at its best."
The event opens with the Vintage Race Car & Sports Car Parade through the local towns culminating in a street fair in Falls Village on Thursday, August 30. This free event is a favorite event for locals and visitors alike. Then, enjoy three days of fantastic, authentic vintage car racing on Friday, August 31, Saturday, September 1 and Monday, September 3. On Sunday, September 2, the Sunday in the Park: Concours d’Elegance and Gathering of the Marques is a time when car enthusiast gather to admire vintage cars.

Happy Labor Day to people near and far, doing whatever they are doing to celebrate the end of summer, the gifts of each season of their lives including the people who showed up to make it special thus far..and to seek peace as the new season begins (and as a new year in many cultures and religions is acknowledged often with gatherings, ceremonies for peace and reconciliation, forgiveness and healing and more...to help the wheels of one's life carry one forward without worry or blocks. Taking time to remember all things 'vintage and those who have journeyed on ahead maybe to brighten our way and lighten our load in our circles and wider connections... let's be living and learning with love as a guiding force and we likely will all find our respective ways to our desired balanced destinations...)
PS In case you need other options, check out the final shows of Always, Patsy Cline at the Sharon Playhouse in CT, or West Side Story in Pittsfield MA . I hope to see them Both... I'll letcha know how it works out though I already saw the Patsy Cline show and feel I will enjoy it just as much as 2nd time round so that should convey the enthusiasm well enough!
PPS In case you need more music in your lives (and Who Doesn't? Check out the Old Tones Festival Sept 8th weekend in Hillsdale NY and FolkLegacyWeekend.com in Sharon CT Sept 14-16... and feel free to donate to that good cause with a donation on the reservation page..and just say donation. Thanks in advance if you happen to take that chance to be altruistic! But hopefully you can come to part of it and bring a friend as well.
