He gives an example of a woman who had her back hurt significantly from an accident. She had pain from age 18 to 70 without relief even with many modalities. She had tried to tough it out and 'feel okay' but she felt angry and bitter on the inside which reaffirmed her pain.

Then she looked at her emotions she realized she had resentments from many aspects of her life. After doing meditations she 'overcame her past and emotional attachments...'she was pain free. Envisioning a positive healed future with good emotions connected to that can bring that to fruition..
