Congratulations to the folks working to keep the doors open and programs runnign at all civic and faith organizations, particularly at schools, daycares and libraries (or lion-braries as I like to playfully call them especially to get kids excited to go hunt for which books and people are "lyin' around" in a library.

There could be friendly Leo and Leila Lions greeting folks on online visitor pages, with journals to capture ideas and addresses (mainly towns and even just first names unless there is a more secure way to make a data base such as file cards dropped into a box.) More on this

15th Anniversary Cannonball Run in Falls Village CT (Not too late to contribute and help a small town celebrate and remember loved ones)

While the Kellogg School serving youngsters kindergarten through middle-school (8th grade) sits handsomely on a hillside on Main Street with a small cannon parked in front of its stone wall, the population of its student body has shrunk to about half when I was there in the 1970s when it had about 170 students.

Same kinds of declines at other schools, though not as steep affect many communities.

HVRHS 75 Years Young in 2014!

A quintessial rural high school, the first Regional High School in the state of CT, celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2014, with a special open house on September 20th, 2014 from 10 to 4pm for those not heading to NYC for the Sept 21st  #PeoplesClimateMarch.

The graduating class of '14 included two honorary women graduates from the some of the earliest classes after the school opened in 1939. Our family connections run long and many maiinly since the 60s when I was just arriving on the planet (over 50 years ago).
