Thanks for being part of my journey, all 10K of you (plus or minus those who've viewed more than one post)

I wanted to chime in here that about Ten Thousand people clicks on my blog posts have happened since its inception about a year ago. Maybe some the same people looked at a few postings. I've mentioned it in a few newspaper articles-- using the 'least amount of energy to get the most work/ exposure done'. Sometimes it feels like 'bragging or self-promotion' but really I feel like Somebuddy has to talk about these matters for more people to ponder collectively. It's not easy to start writing if one had been beaten down by naysayers or not built up by yeah-sayers.

Reflections on Memorial Day 2014 in Sharon CT, a teen hero's hometown

on Tue, 05/27/2014 - 02:57

I enjoyed seeing country roads lined with green trees and American flags in the towns and on the homes  while I zoomed through Salisbury and Lakeville on the way to Sharon CT this morning to help direct the parade which forms in near the school and makes its festive way down Main Street along the Green. I set up my Turtlemobile (my green Subi small station wagon/Outback with stickers on the back which call out "Teach Your Children Well" --as the words to that song from the 60s go--and 'Courage", "Trust", "Respect"--along the lines of another "Give it, Get It.

Tough Times in TX..water needed, lake is low but need to know

on Mon, 05/19/2014 - 01:51

A report from a friend in TX is that there's 150' more feet of beach on a lake about a half hour from Dallas. Could that indicate an overall decline in lake water? "Yes, most of the lakes in Central to West TX are very low, including Lake Travis in Austin TX  which makes much more mud for four-wheeling". Meanwhile GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms, sometimes referenced as Genetically engineered plants--corn, soy, etc) which are a staple ingredient in many processed foods are a growing concern due to a lack of research. The longest study was only done for 30 days.

Thankful for a nice start to my 51st journey around the sun (plus the 9 and a half months in Mom's belly)

My 51st birthday unfolded in lovely ways, first with a friend answering and chatting the morning away while I worked in my Turtle Garden (see post on that).  I also tidied and nibbled then did more work outdoors. I got FB posts and calls from family. Then I got to enjoy the simple yet inspiring agricultural fair at the local high school. Baby animals--black and white sheep, goats, and chickens, dogs and horses, a cow and grown sheep too enlivened the back lot.
