Remembering Kaelan Alexander Palmer Paton

Reflecting on the Years Since Our Heroic Kaelan Paton's Came to a sudden end...in June 2009

on Fri, 06/05/2020 - 04:44

. These are comments I added to the longer piece (that grew over the years) called Remembering Kaelan Alexander Palmer Paton. I live where I can walk to the family cemetery and even see the place where fun turned into tragedy, leaving many lessons to prevent harm in it's wake (such as not going near dangerous water and particularly not to swim or jump in it, among other things.) Thanks for doing what you can with common sense taking the helm and living to see decades of growth and smart, safe adventures!

Country haven a bit of heaven

Kids spinning their way toward the stars

Round and round the lamp post like

Three living hands of a clock

People turning into Things Over Time

Under a spell on the stage of life

Dreaming, Waking, Sharing, Taking

Turns with Words, Deeds, Dreams

Figuring out Things Alone and Together

Fireworks Exploding into mini supernovas

Belly dancer shimmying

Bent over backwards

Rainbows igniting

Billowy Storm Clouds Appearing

Three letters, minutes or people added

People challenging whitewater

Then suddenly Disappearing and

Some reappearing, but not all

Kudos to Kids Picking Up Trash and Doing the Right Thing, and the Brave Deeds (sometimes at the ultimate cost..so a tough call, kind of)

Very cool to learn of the senior class at Housatonic Valley Regional High School of Falls Village CT was spending time cleaning up rural roads in the northwest corner of CT. I know other schools and groups do this as well, public and private. That is the school I attended locally as did my former husband and our four children (at least a year each.) Many other relatives and friends also happily found friends and good schooling and experiences at the high school.

Mama, It's Okay by Catherine Palmer Paton (in memory of teen son reflecting support)

Mama, It's Okay if you still miss me

Mama I know I'm still in your heart

Papa I see you workin'

Making Your way through each day

Papa I'm proud to be your son

even though I had to step away

Sisters I hear you sharing

Your hopes, your dreams, your fears

Sisters Thank you for bringing

Your love, your help, your tears

Brothers, all who feel they are my friends

We strive and touch the stars

Our hearts soar like eagles

In living fully and through scars

Grandpas, your deep love keeps me rooted

From one realm to the next

Your steadfast care sees me through

Good times and bad, for

What I Wrote Before Brett Kavanaugh Was Confirmed..When there was Hope!

on Mon, 10/15/2018 - 03:14
The timing of the country being focused on the Brett Kavanaugh nomination to the Supreme Court is creating a national conversation about experiences of many victims that were not disclosed or did not have a meaningful impact if they were.

We have yet to see what the outcome will be yet we are all tuning in to these matters that used to seem 'personal or otherwise not meaningful to more than the victims, even if many felt their lives were impacted in horrendous ways.'

Time for some Good News, but again not the final vote: The US Congress House of Representatives passed Resolution 72
